Editorial policy

Our guides should be accurate, current and useful, whether or not anyone ever asks for a quote.

How guides are written

Guides are drafted with the help of AI writing tools, then fact-checked against primary sources such as the county property appraisers, Manatee and Sarasota county websites, the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, and the businesses and organizations named. Michael Elliott reviews and approves every page before it is published.

Pages about taxes, real estate, insurance, health or legal matters get a closer review. They are general information, not professional advice for your situation.

Dates and updates

Every guide shows the date its facts were last verified. Prices and fees are reviewed at least every quarter. If you see something wrong or out of date, tell us and we will correct it.

How partners are chosen and paid

Each service category has one featured partner. We check the partner’s state license where one is required, insurance and recent reviews before featuring them. Partners pay Live Ranch Life when we send them a request for a quote.

Partners do not review, edit or pay for placement in our guides. Recommendations in guides, such as restaurant picks, are editorial and never paid.

Where the owner of Live Ranch Life has an ownership interest in a featured partner, the partner’s listing says so.

Corrections

Corrections are made as soon as we confirm them, and the page’s verified date is updated.
